George Emile Matte was born January 19, 1959 to Louis Ferdinand Matte and Lea Marie Matte. He was the only son out of four children. His sisters are Louise (Thom) Smith of North Carolina, Lucille Matte of Texas and Dianne (Mike) Killian of Ohio.
He was married twice and had a child with each wife. His first child and only daughter, Angela (Allan) West and His second child and only son, Cody Louis Matte. Angela gave him two grandchildren Tyler Skot Matte and Brittany Nicole West.
He was a loving father, husband, son, brother, and a friend to many. He was 6 feet 9 inches tall and a big, brave man. He fought this disease as hard as anyone could have ever expected. He lost the battle November 5, 1996 at the young age of 37....
